To enter the property of Casa Coqui you would drive in on the community dirt road for about one mile. If you were to continue on the paved road for another mile you would come to Zoni Beach. Zoni Beach is a one mile sand beach that faces St Thomas, Culebrita and Cayo Norte and typically is considered crowded if there are fifty people enjoying its pleasures.

Casa Coqui is located midway into the community which ends at another seldom used half mile beach that faces Culebrita and is part of this community. Located three properties (approx one half mile) below the Casa Coqui is Manglar Bay. This pristine sheltered mini bay provides some great features for your Caribbean adventures. It is rare to see more than a handful of boats in this beautiful stretch of quiet water. There is a legal community dock (125 ft length) that is a very rare find on Culebra. Indeed it is the only dock on the whole east end of Culebra. It is a perfect for dinghy or small boat and there is an excellent protected mooring area for larger boats just a few hundred feet off the dock. From the many grand decks of Casa Coqui you can view your moored boat. Manglar Bay is know for excellent Tarpon fishing at the closed end of the Bay which is surrounded by majestic mangroves and at the bay’s entrance there are sand flats that will have you enjoying some fine Bone fishing. The large Green turtles also use this secluded bay for their quiet resting area and it is not uncommon to see different species of Rays some up to six feet gliding along the bottom. Outside the entrance to this small bay from January- March watch for the Humpback whales as they make their traditional runs thru the Caribbean in this area. From the small dock you are just twenty minutes to Culebrita and some great fishing for Sierra, King, Mahi Mahi , or Tuna. If snorkeling or diving is your pleasure you are perfectly situated to enjoy many great locations within a few minutes by boat. Manglar Bay is also an excellent location for swimming, kayaking and windsurfing. If you have a burning desire to get cosmopolitan take a quick boat trip to St Thomas which is only 13 miles to the east.

The house was designed and built by the owners after much considerable exploration and research into what would make up a very unique and practical residence on Culebra. This process demanded a property that suited their requirements of seclusion, Caribbean water views, and easy access to a protected bay with a dock and mooring.
